Welp, it’s fall y'all! That means it's time for some cozy fall activities that you can do inside and outside, alone, with friends, or with family. Fall is my favorite season of the year (even though Christmas is my favorite holiday) and I get so excited about it year after year. I love being that crazy person who decorates my house in fall designs and colors as soon as August hits. I start lighting my pumpkin and apple cider candles, putting out my pumpkin home decor items, and getting a bunch of cozy fall signs for the house. Here is a list of some cozy fall activities that you can enjoy this season! I tried to include both indoor and outdoor activities for this general list, so I am sure you can find something you will love. Read: Make a cozy area in your home and read a good book. I like to add fall candles and cozy lights to my reading area, then settle down with a cup of tea or coffee to read for a few hours. I also put a cozy cafe music stream on YouTube to enhance the experience. You can also use Spotify, Pandora, or even Alexa for your background noise. I just read ‘Sunsets and Shades’ by Erica Lee this morning from beginning to end with a warmed apple cider and now I am onto Nights in Roadanthe by Nicholas Sparks. Baking: Grab some amazing fall dessert recipes here and try out some yummy fall flavors. Not only will your home smell incredible, but your tastebuds will thank you. Pumpkin and apple pies are my two favorite flavors. Fall Crafts: Fall crafts are a great indoor cozy fall activity that you can do alone or with friends and family. You can paint pumpkins, make wreaths, create fall flower bouquets, or even make a coffee can scarecrow or leaf lion! The possibilities are endless with fall crafts. Cozy Movie Night: Grab your fall or Halloween blanket, a mug of hot cocoa, and your favorite fall movies for a wonderful night inside! You can even hook up your before-mentioned indoor s’more cooker for a great snack while you binge some fall movies. Because I live in South Florida, we don’t get as much of the beautiful fall scenery, foliage, or weather, so I like to live through incredible cozy fall movies instead. Apple Picking: If you’re mobile and have an orchard nearby, take an afternoon to go apple picking to get some of your own delicious apples! You can bake them into delicious desserts like cake or pie, or juice them up for some homemade apple cider! Fall Foliage Drive: Speaking of which, take a drive through a park or any nearby area that’s full of trees for some beautiful fall scenery. If you’re feeling really nice, you can take some videos and upload them to YouTube for those of us who can’t experience it ourselves because of where we live or other conditions affecting our ability to go out and see the gorgeous trees this fall. Pumpkin Carving: Pumpkin carving is a great cozy fall activity that you can do yourself or with friends and family. Get creative and carve out a funny or spooky face or scene and put it on your windowsill or your front porch with a candle inside. If you don’t like flames, you can use an LED candle for the same spooky effect! Take some pictures: What better way to enjoy autumn than to capture the beauty that it provides? Take photographs of the beautiful landscapes and fall leaves that are all around you. Visit a Corn Maze: Take yourself and/or your family and friends out to a corn maze to have some fun while getting lost with all of the twists and turns. You can even make a bet on who gets out first to keep it more interesting. Bonfire and Smores: If you have an outdoor firepit, get that bonfire started! You can make some s’mores alone or invite your friends and family over for a night of laughs, music, and roasted marshmallows all around. For those of you like me who can’t do a bonfire, I still have you covered. I bought this bad boy from Amazon and it works pretty darn good if I do say so myself. Smore's Maker Attend a Fall Festival: Check out a local fall festival so you can enjoy some great music, lovely hay rides, awesome food, and even pick out a pumpkin to take home. Fall Decorations: One of my favorite things to do every fall is decorate my house, inside and outside, for the fall season. My mom was a huge decorator and she would make the house look amazing, and although I don’t do as great of a job as she did, I do try my best. I love hanging wall signs, putting up tabletop decor, candles, wreaths, and even hanging lights. Cider Tasting: If you’re a fan of apple cider, this would be a great cozy fall activity that you can do alone or with others. If you’re unlike me and great in the kitchen, you could also make your own cider tastings at home! Nature Hike: If you live in a state/area that has beautiful trees and weather, taking a nature hike could be a great fall activity to embark on for a day. Drive-Through Halloween Celebration: If your city/town has a Halloween drive-through, I highly suggest it. Growing up we went to Stew Leonard every year for their hay ride, haunted hay ride, pumpkin patch picking, etc. Now they have a Halloween drive-through celebration which the whole family can enjoy, or you can enjoy solo! Photo Credit Visit a Farmers Market: A farmers market is a great place to get local fresh food, seasonal produce, some fall treats, and personal gifts/creations from local residents. Cozy Cooking: Try some recipes for chili, nourishing soup, and tasty stew. This is a great cozy fall activity after a farmers market trip. Make Caramel Apples: A time-honored tradition, who doesn’t like making caramel apples? These treats are a fall staple and of course, delicious. You can even set up a caramel apple-making station in your kitchen complete with all the toppings you could dream of like nuts, reese pieces, or pretzels. Stargazing: Although not strictly a cozy fall activity, because the weather is crisper, fall makes it a great time to sit outside on a blanket or lay down on the grass and stargaze. See how many stars or constellations you can see in the sky. I hope you enjoyed this list of cozy fall activities that you can do either by yourself or with family and friends.
